Easter was a very good day for us. I, thankfully, did not have to work, which is amazing because almost everyone at the restaurant had to work. Rhiannon woke us up very early, exclaiming that the Easter Bunny had left a basket by her door. Inside was a cute little stuffed bunny, a book (Mariposa), a movie (Ratatouille), some chocolate and various other goodies. It was quite early, but she demanded that we get up and help her hunt for eggs. grudgingly, we did. She had a wonderful time looking for eggs.
We then went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe (our first two choices were closed, but Mimi's turned out to be good, if a little pricier than we intended. I had orange marmalade and cream cheese stuffed french toast topped with strawberries and blueberries, Joel had a yummy veggie and feta cheese omelet, and Rhiannon had Mimi-mouse pancakes and fruit. We then drove around for a bit, window shopping for houses. We came home, watched the movie (very cute, btw, if you haven't seen it), took naps, and then went back out to take the dogs to the dog park and get dinner (Curbside Takeaway from Outback - with my discount it is cheaper than eating in sometimes). And that was our day - rather lovely, wouldn't you say?
There is not much else to report. Joel is finished with school for this semester and he is much relieved. he gave his final presentations last night and they seem to have gone well. I will know for sure if I am going to grad school by April 15th, but it doesn't look good. I am on the "wait list" right now, which means I a am not their first choice. Ah well, it's a little depressing, but what can you do, right? I f I don't get into grad school, Joel and I don't think we want to stay in Lakeland, but Joel has a good job that pays well and treats him pretty well, so we can only really move if he finds comparable employment elsewhere. We're looking in Asheville, SLC area and Western Washington. Who knows what will happen, though.
