Well, Valentine's Day was a bit of a wash at our house. I had to work the morning shift at NY&C and then I had to go into Outback at night, so I really didn't see Joel or Rhiannon at all. Between shifts I bought a balloon and a box of chocolates for Rhiannon and put them out where she could see them when she got home from school. Joel said it made her really happy, which makes me happy. When I got home from Outback (relatively early and without as much money as I'd hoped since I was made to wrok patio AND share it with another server - the cold weather prohibited most from wanting to sit outside, even to avoid an hour long wait for a table) Joel gave me a card from him and a card from Rhiannon, made me a Tostino's frozen pizza and a beer. Maybe not the most romantic, but highly appreciated. We were going to watch Harry Potter (5), but then the phone rang, so Joel went to go talk to his dad. I couldn't even finish the movie by myself because the DVD player started acting up. So, took a bath and went to bed.
Reading over this it seems my day was quite dreary, but in fact it wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds. Joel and I plan to give ourselves a romantic night out later in the month or in March, so V Day wasn't really a big deal.
