Rhiannon walks the catwalk

Joel waits in line with Rhiannon before she struts her stuff on stage.

Click on the title of this posting to see Rhiannon walk the catwalk at Brandon Mall.

There was a little audition at the Brandon Mall for Model Productions. This was just a preliminary "contest" that almost everyone made it through - because the next three steps in the competition cost $50 each. Supposedly some of the contestants would recieve modeling contracts at the end of the process, but even if Rhiannon has what it takes to be a model, I don't feel like shelling out $150 bucks to find out. She had so much fun up there and was so excited when her number was called as one of the kids eligible to move on. Of course she was disappointed when we told her that she couldn't do the rest of the competition, but I think she understood when we told her that it was too expensive. She's used to not getting what she wants for that reason.

Well, Fouth of July fireworks were a bust - Rhiannon is terrified of them. At the first explosion she started screaming "GET ME OUT OF HERE!" over and over and generally freaking out. She was even afraid of the fireworks Joel bought to set off in the driveway - she watched from her bedroom window and would duck down every time she got scared. At least she wasn't alone - Draco and Oreo were in her room with her.

I took Rhiannon to the zoo again yesterday, thanks to my friend and co-worker Kassy who had a couple of free tickets she didn't plan on ever using. We had a good time, although we didn't get to see the primates (my favorite part) and we didn't get to ride the new log flume ride because of the weather. I also thought the zoo was open later than it was and we got there late. There are no pictures, of course, because my camera battery was dead.

Joel and Rhiannon leave for Utah tomorrow morning and I am going to be so sad to see them go - but I have to admit that a little part of me is looking forward to it (just a small part, I promise). I think Rhiannon is nervous about it because she's been overly emotional and clingy the last few days. I know they are going to have a good time, though.
