June 27 - A day with Dylan

On Friday we (Rhiannon and I with her friend Dylan and his Mom, Melissa) went to see a folk music children's concert at the Lake Mirror Center. It was all right - he sang
There Was An Old Lady and a version of Froggy Went a Courtin' that I hadn't heard before and that was hard to sing to, as well as afew other songs, but for the most part the kids didn't know the songs and weren't that engaged. It was also really cold in the auditorium and the singer (whose name I cannot remember)kept telling the kids to quit talking and moving around, so it could have been better.




After the concert the kids played in the fountain for a while (the pictures I took there were washed out, unfortunately) and then we walked to our favorite ice cream place downtown, near Munn Park for grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream. Afterward, we saw baby ducks swimming in Lake Mirror and visited the gardens.
